INSTRUCTOR
Ms. Amy is a dancer, performer, choreographer, and instructor for more than 36 years. Her classical training began under Sheryl Rowland, former dancer with Houston Ballet, and John Adamson, former dancer with the Royal Ballet of London and Houston Ballet. She also trained extensively in jazz and tap with Delia Stewart Jazz Dance Company, Glen Hunsucker, Jeff Lewis, Sharon Edlund, and Kirsten Richnow.
Amy's professional performance credits include The Nutcracker, Society for the Performing Arts productions, Josaphine Johns Generating Company, Kingwood Jazz Civic Company, Jerry Lewis Telethon, Pro Bowl Halftime Show in Honolulu, Hawaii featuring NSYNC, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Opening Number, and opening productions for the Miss Texas Pageant Organization.
Amy has created works for Miss Texas Pageant, Jerry Lewis Telethon, Orange Bowl Parade, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and six Pro Bowl Half-time Shows in Hawaii featuring artists such as NSYNC and Jessica Simpson. Under her leadership as a Company Director, it reached new levels of artistic excellence and was recognized for bringing artistry and integrity to the competitive dance world. Her choreography has earned numerous regional and national awards across multiple genres, and she was recognized for Choreographic Excellence at the New York City Dance Alliance National Gala for her pointe choreography.
Amy's students have gone on to study with some of the nation's most prestigious universities, conservatories, and professional companies, including Boston Conservatory, The Juilliard School, University of Arizona, UCLA, NYU, Alvin Ailey Certificate Program, Disney, Norwegian Cruise Line, LA Dance Project, Radio City Rockettes, and more.
Amy is passionate about the art of dance and is dedicated to sharing her knowledge of technique, artistry, and performance with the next generation of dancers. She finds great joy in inspiring her students and watching their growth, confidence, and accomplishments develop year after year.
