J.C. BULL

MUSIC INSTRUCTOR

J. C. Bull is the Brass Area Graduate Assistant at Sam Houston State University, where he is pursuing a Master of Music in Performance. He also teaches private music lessons to students in Conroe and Klein ISD.

J. C. earned his Bachelor of Music in Performance with Honors from the University of New Mexico. With five years of teaching experience, he works with students of all ages and levels in piano, euphonium, tuba, and trombone. His goal is to help each student build confidence, develop strong musical fundamentals, and achieve individual goals.

​

J. C. believes great musicians are developed through a balance of strong fundamentals, musical expression, and consistent practice. His lessons provide a structured yet encouraging environment where students can grow as musicians while developing discipline, creativity, and a genuine appreciation for music. Whether a student is just beginning their musical journey or preparing for audition/performance, lessons are tailored to meet individual needs and abilities.

As an active performer and educator, J. C. is committed to continued professional growth. He regularly participates in regional, national, and international conferences, workshops, and conventions, learning from leading performers and educators in the field. His recent professional development includes attending Army Band Workshop in Washington, D.C., and International Tuba and Euphonium Conference (ITEC) in Valencia, Spain. He brings these experiences, along with current teaching approaches and fresh musical perspectives, directly into his lessons.

Outside of teaching and performing, J. C. enjoys reading, dancing, and spending time practicing each day to continue growing as a musician and educator. He is passionate about lifelong learning and strives to inspire that same love of music, dedication, and pursuit of excellence in every student he teaches.
