Scarlett Banbury is a native Houstonian, second-generation dance instructor, teaching ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, and tap for 20+ years. Training began at age 2 in her mother’s studio, Banbury School of Dance. Studied many summers in New York City at renowned studios: Alvin Ailey, David Howard, Martha Graham, and “Steps” on Broadway. Also, studied with Houston Ballet’s Andrea Vodehnal, American Ballet Theatre, and Boston Ballet. Performed numerous times in Houston International Festival, Dickens on the Strand, and was chosen for a part in Houston Grand Opera’s Manon. Ballet coach for elite gymnasts on Junior & Women’s USA Olympic Teams, including Mary Lou Retton’s girls, and students in Youth America Grand Prix Ballet Competition. Choreographed for ANICO’s Moody Gardens Gala Celebration. Member of Texas Association of Teachers of Dancing & Physical Mind Institute in New York City, certified in Pilates, and recently certified by American Ballet Theatre in Levels Primary – 5. Currently pursuing a degree in English. Mother of one.
